My favourite thing in warmer months is to switch up my lips with lipgloss. I've been trying to lighten up my makeup regime and I find lipgloss is the perfect addition. You know the look, girl next door, fresh and fuss-free, no lipliners required.
An additional benefit to gloss is that in dryer months lips remain hydrated, no caking corners only juicy plumped up lips. Having a smaller mouth like I do, I always love the extra hydration and blurred volume that can only come from a good shine. One of the key things to remember when applying gloss is that you don't want to overdo it, there is nothing worse than a string of liquid every time you open your mouth. Always start light and remember to squash your lips together after application to get a good spread and blending of the edges.
These are my top three glosses on rotation at the moment, I love the Maybelline Mandarin colour (Look 1) when I'm heading out as it brings a lot of colour and lasts well - for a girl who loves red lippy like me this is a perfect alternative. I have only just warmed to a lighter lip (look 2) but there is something so effortless about it that it suits me perfectly on a busy work day. The Lustreglass by Mac (Look 3) I always get asked about, it has a light sparkle and I find it the ultimate plumper, also tastes pretty good too!
